The Minor C Football Championships have also reached the Semi-Final stage.

Here's we'll have a quick run down of whose left in the C competitions and their route to the semis.

Minor C Championship Semi-Finals:

How they got here:

Scoil Ui Chonaill:

Group Stage: Scoil came through the group stage top of group 2, unbeaten with 2 wins and a draw. Beating Clanna Gael well, then a good win over Peregrines/Garda and drawing with Judes in the last round.

In the quarter-final Scoil beat Na Fianna Bs 3-08 to 1-07, a pretty comprehensive win against a NAF side who had finished second in Group one on 2-1

Whitehall Colmcille:

Group Stage: Whitehall also finished top of their group (3) unbeaten with 2 wins and a draw. A big win v a poorly graded TTS, a tight enough low scoring game against Ranelagh Gaels and then a draw with Clontarf.

In the quarter-final they had a big old win against Castleknock Bs - on a score of 5-26 to 1-08. Castleknock had finished second in group 4, the top team from that group was also beaten in the 1/4 stage so perhaps not the toughest group.

Verdict:

Both teams unbeaten so something will have to give, Whitehalls big win in the 1/4 finals may work against them as Scoil's tighter game will have brought them on more, or, are Whitehall just that good - time will tell!

-------

Trinity Gaels:

Group Stage Trinity finished the group on 3-0 which is pretty rare across all the grades. Good win v NAF in Round 1, a tighter one v Lucan in round two 3-05 to 1-04 and then a big old win against Raheny in the last round.

In the quarter-final they ran up 2-14 to 1-11 winners v Peregrines/Garda who had finished their group on 2-1

Ranelagh Gaels:

Group Stage Ranelagh finished 2-1 in second spot behind Whitehall in Group 3, they ran in 5 goals v Clontarf in R1, lost narrowly to Whitehall in R2, scoring 2 more goals, and hit another 8 goals in a 8-09 to 1-07 win over TSS.

In the quarter-final they beat the Barr's with another two goals 2-12 to 0-07 which was a Barrs team previously unbeaten at that point as the topped group 4 with 2 wins and a draw.

Verdict:

Ranelagh seem to score lots of goals with 17 in 4 games to date - if Trinity can keep a clean sheet they've every chance.

Best of luck to everyone involved! 💪

Road to the Final

Trinity Gaels:

Group Stage Trinity finished the group on 3-0 which is pretty rare across all the grades. Good win v NAF in Round 1, a tighter one v Lucan in round two 3-05 to 1-04 and then a big old win against Raheny in the last round.

In the quarter-final they ran up 2-14 to 1-11 winners v Peregrines/Garda who had finished their group on 2-1

In the Semi-Final Trinity held the goal hungry Ranelagh side and ran up a big total themselves. Winning well on 1-18 to 1-09.

Whitehall also ran up a big total in the semi-final win over a battled hardned Scoil beating them 1-16 to 2-11

Verdict:

Impossible to call, both teams scoring really well, should be a very good game.

The Final

Trinity Gaels 2-07 - Whitehall Colmcille 1-09

The narrowest of wins for Trinity Gaels in what always looked like being a tight contest. Not too many celebrations now lads as ye have a chance for a double in the Hurling B final next week! A club that seems to be on the upwards tragectory. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Hard luck to Whitehall, a good fight back and losing the final by 1 might be tough but it means there's nothing between you and the winners so, regroup and drive on again.
