St Patrick’s Donabate 0-13 - Ballyboden St Enda’s 3-16

First place v third in last year's AFL1, so expected this to be closer than it finished, but I suppose Boden as SFC1 Dublin and Leinster Champions are a different level to SFC2 - a couple of big players not in with the doobs as well helps maintain that form.

Boden are away to an in form Ballymun in the next round, so that'll be interesting to see who comes out on top there.

No shame in losing to Boden, but Pats will be a little disappointed with the margin. They're hosting Mary's in R3, so will be hoping to pick up the 2 points there.

  • St. Patrick’s (D): (AFL1 3rd place, SFC2 Semi-Final)
  • W - L
  • BBSE: (AFL1 1st place, SFC1 Champions)
  • W - W

Cuala 0-16 - Clontarf 0-16

A draw here leaves both these teams without a win, but early doors yet, Cuala have a lot of people away with the Dubs this spring, so that's not going to do their league form any good. Besides, Clontarf are a good side, as their 4th-place finish last year shows. Cuala are away to a Raheny, who after a win in the first round, conceded a load of goals last weekend to take a trimming from TD.

Clontarf will be glad to pick up a point againt Cuala after their loss to Ballymun in the first round. They're away to in Form BSJ next time, so that'll be a tough one.

  • Clontarf: (AFL1 4th place, SFC1 Quarter-Final)
  • L - D
  • Cuala: (AFL1 10th place, SFC1 Semi-Final)
  • D - D

----------

Ballinteer St John’s 2-10 - Na Fianna 1-11

Great win here for BSJ, especially considering they're missing Breathnach, Lundy and Liam Smyth. Builds nicely on their good first-round win over TD. They have Clontarf in Marley Park in R3 so that should be a good game.

NaF are also missing plenty, as well, of course. Now without a win in 2 rounds, they're away to Judes in R3, so will be hoping to pick up the 2 points there.

There was another home win in Marley Park as Ballinteer St John’s completed their second win on the bounce when beating Na Fianna by 2-10 to 1-11.

The first-half was a tight affair with a two-pointer from BSJ’s Seamus Fenton leaving the teams deadlocked at 0-4 apiece before the hosts took control after the interval.

Joey Quirke scored 1-1 in the third quarter and further points by Liam Fenton, Jack Long and Seamus Fenton kept them on the front foot.

A second home goal arrived through Liam Fenton with ten minutes left as St John’s claimed a deserved win through the efforts of David Devereux, Matthew Gardiner, Oisin Grady and Donal Ryan.

  • BSJ: (AFL1 5th place)
  • W - W
  • Na Fianna: (AFL1 2nd place, SFC1 Runners-up)
  • D - L

Ballymun Kickhams 3-22 - St Vincent’s 1-08

Vincents possibly got promoted too soon, the score here is very heavy and follows an equally tough if not worse, scoreline from R1 v Castleknock. The host Lucan in R3, a team that just drew with the same Castleknock, which hammered Vins in R1.

Ballymun are in good form on 2-0 and after scoring 6 goals in their first two games. They entertain BBSe in R3 - so that will be a huge game, bith on 2-0 and flying it.

  • St. Vincent’s: (Promoted, AFL2 2nd place, SFC1 Relegated) – L
  • Ballymun: (AFL1 8th place, SFC1 Quarter-Final) – W

Kilmacud Crokes 1-18 - Skerries Harps 3-07

Paul Mannion kicked nine points as Kilmacud Crokes got the better of Skerries Harps by 1-18 to 3-7 in their Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Football League Division 1 meeting at Páirc de Búrca on Sunday morning.

The hosts started with the wind at their backs and struck early through a Dara Mullin goal but Harps raised two green flags themselves to trail by just two points by the break.

Kilmacud impressed in the second-half with Mannion shining in attack while the likes of James Murphy, Ross McGowan, Mark O’Leary, Ben Shovlin and Luke O’Kelly all played their part as the contest evolved.

O’Leary and substitute Shane Cunningham kicked two points apiece with the home scoring completed by Leo Fearon, Cillian O’Shea, Eoghan O’Donovan, Aidan Jones and Darragh Dempsey.

  • Crokes: (AFL1 6th place, SFC1 Semi-Final)
  • L - W
  • Skerries - Promoted - (AFL2 = 1 place) - SFC2 - Champions
  • GO - L

----------

Castleknock 2-17 - Lucan Sarsfields 4-11

Goals kept Lucan in this one and earned their first point of the league so far, after a tough R1 loss to Pats. They have Vincents up next, and will be looking to add to the tough start for Vincents.

Castleknock have run up big old scores in their first to games, 26 scores in R1 and 19 here, good going. They host Skerries Harps in their next round, which will be a tough one.

  • Lucan: (AFL1 13th place, SFC1 Quarter-Final)
  • L - D
  • Castleknock: (AFL1 7th place, SFC1 Quarter-Final)
  • W - D

----------

Raheny 1-12 - Thomas Davis 6-14

High old scoreline to concede here for Raheny, especially after their good win v Marys in the first round. Could be a sign of a tough league to take a loss like that from the 9th place team last year. Hosting Cuala next Round, which wint be any easier.

Thomas Dacvis will be glad to get a good win, after their loss to BSJ in round 1, nice easy trip to look forward to v Kilmacud next round.

  • Thomas Davis: (AFL1 9th place)
  • L - W
  • Raheny: (Promoted, AFL2 3rd place)
  • W - L

----------

St Jude’s 1-08 - St Mary’s Saggart 2-06

Jude's first game after their Round 1 game was postponed with the weather, with nothing between the teams here in what was a very low-scoring game. Not surprising it was close as they finished 11th and 12 last year. Jude's host a winless NaFianna next round, which will be tricky.

Mary's will be glad to get some points on the board after their 1-point loss to Raheny in Round 1 - scraping this one by the same margin! Away to Pats in Round 3 which will be a tricky one.

In Saggart, St Mary’s scored goals at crucial times as they edged St Jude’s by 2-6 to 1-8.

Rhys Butler shone in the home defence and with Colin Lawlor and Adam Drewett showing well further up the field, goals by Shane Buckley and Conor Jameson proved worth their weight in gold by the final whistle.

  • St. Mary’s: (AFL1 11th place)
  • L - W
  • St. Judes - (AFL1 = 12th place)
  • GO - L
