The draw has taken place for the Under 21 B Hurling Championships 2025.

The first round will be played on Saturday - November 1st.

Should be some good games in there albeit some people are unhappy with some of the gradings.

Quarter Final Results

Results:

Erin’s Isle 0-10 Faughs 1-18

Good win for Faughs over Erins Isle, for Isles Adam McDonnell and Cian Fagan stood out despite the loss. Faughs win was led by Conor Murphy and Shane McCarthy.

------

Clontarf 5-22 Thomas Davis 3-7

Clontarf with a big win over Thomas Davis perhaps not that surprising given their strong minor A teams the last year or two. Conor Newton hit 1-5 from play in their 5-22 to 3-7 win over Thomas Davis. Fionn Magner, Joe Sheppard, Jack Ryan and Donagh Murphy all impressed.

------

Commercials 1-25 St Peregrine’s & Garda WMT 1-11

Commercials with a convincing win over Peregrines/Weatmanstown Gaels - Luke Dempsey top-scored with 1-5.

For Peregrines/Weatmanstown Gaels Sean Power worked tirelessly in a losing cause.

------

Ballinteer St John’s 3-18 Castleknock 2-20 AET

Balinteer with the narrowiest of wins over Castleknock in a high scoring game for this time of year.

------

Semi-Finals

Semi-Finals fixtures will be played on Saturday November 15th at 2.15 PM

Four Clubs who really seem to be on the upward trajectory meet here - and only two can go through.

Balinteer St.Johns v Commercials

Balinteer after their narrow win over Castleknock which went to extra time to be decided. Meet Commercials who had a comfortable enough win in the first round running up 1-25.

BSJ might be more battle hardened but commercials involvement in the AIB Leinster intermediate campaign might interfere with their preperation for this game.

Do they go for it here or do they rest anyone with a knock with an eye on Danesfort in the next round in Leinster?

Clontarf v Faughs:

Two clubs who have been going well underage over the last few years. both had convincing wins in the quarter-final

Clontarf ran up a big old score in the last round against Thomas Davis, might not be battled hardened for this one? Faughs had a good win over Erins isle.

Hard one to call, I'm going to say 3 or 4 points at most either way - unless someone gets a glut of goals.

Scores

Clontarf 1-12 Faughs 2-18.

Good win here for Faughs as Clontarf have had some really strong minor teams recently.

DCB Report:

In St Anne’s Park, a strong start proved pivotal as Faughs got the better of Clontarf by 2-18 to 1-12.
Goals from Dessie Ryan and Aedan Mostyn in the first quarter opened up a sizeable lead and the visitors kept control of matters through strong displays from Oisín Walsh, Sean McDonald, Ted Duke, David Pryce, Dan Ryan and goalkeeper Kevin Hogan.
Mossy Moore, Walsh and Paul O’Connor chipped in with four points apiece with the Faughs scoring completed through points by Eoghan Brennan, Pryce and Colm McCabe.

Ballinteer St John’s 2-20 Commercials 4-06

Serious scoring by BSJ over Commercials

DCB Report:

It will be an all-southside affair in the ‘B’ final as well as Ballinteer St John’s and Faughs enjoyed relatively comfortable victories against Commercials and Clontarf respectively.
At Ballinteer Community School, goals in either half from Joey Quirke and Max Caulwell helped St John’s to ease past Commercials by 2-22 to 4-6.
The likes of Cody Graham, Conor Quinn and Tommy Cullen kept the hosts on the front foot throughout with the latter contributing ten points to the home tally.
While Diarmaid Ó Dúlaing netted twice and Ferdia Ó Nualláin added another goal for the visitors, St John’s kept on top thanks to four Jack Long points while Cormac Fenton, Quinn, Conor Roche, the lively Caulwell and Dylan Bannan all added scores by the final whistle.

Final

Saturday November 29th

Faughs v Ballinteer St John’s

The culmination of the U21 B Hurling Championship is on Saturday afternoon, in what should be a high-quality game between these two southside teams.

Both teams have lads who are well established at senior for their clubs, and both had high scoring and convincing wins over good opposition in the semi-finals.

Really should be a belter of a game on Saturday in Marley Park.

Result:

Faughs 2-07 - Ballinteer St John’s 1-17

Great win for Balinteer St.Johns to lads the u21 B Hurling title.
