Minor B Football Championship Final 2025

The Minor B Football Championship Final between Castleknock and Ballinteer St.Johns is on this Sunday November 9th at 11.00am in Somerton Park

Final-Verdict:

A good 4 point win in the semi-finals for Ballinteer, followed a very good win in the quarter-final. In fact their only negative result was losing a shootout to Lusk in the group stage. Seem to be very good at scoring goals with more then 15 in the Championship so far.

Gaols also made all the difference for Castleknock with 4 goals in the Semi-Final stage helpong them to a good win over neighbours Brigids. This came after scoring 3 goals in the quarter-final to overcome Cuala.

So we should see goals anyways - read below for more detail on their paths to the semi-finals.

Best of luck to everyone involved! 💪

See the Semi-Final Stage:

The Minor B Football Championships has reached the Semi-Final stage.

Here's we'll have a quick run down of whose left in the B competitions and their route to the semis.

Minor B Championship Semi-Finals:

How they got here:

Balinteer St.Johns:

BSj finished top of group 1 with 2 wins and a loss. in Round one they beat Boden Bs 4-09 to 2-09, round 2 they beat Brigids 3-05 to 0-05 and then lost a high scoring game v Lusk by 4-16 to 3-13.

In the quarter-final they beat Olafs well, 5-11 to 0-09 an Olafs team who had finished on 2-1 in Group 2.

Skerries Harps:

Skerries finish second in group 3 on 2-1, they lost round 1 to Castleknock 1-05 to 1-15, regrouped to beat a poorly graded Annes 5-17 to 1-06 and then beat Fingal Raves 2-16 to 2-13.

In the quarter-final they beat Peters heavily 7-10 to 1-13 - thats a peters who had finished the 4th group on 3-0

Verdict:

Not sure - if Harps can hold BSJ goal count down they will shade it but BSJ seem to be mad for goals having scored 15 goals in 4 games so far.

-------

St.Brigids:

Another team who finished on 2-1 in the group stage to just squeak through behind BSJ in Group 1. Won the first round against Lusk on 1-10 to 3-05, on Round two they were beaten well by BSJ on 3-05 to 0-05 and won the third round well against Boden Bs 1-11 to 1-05.

Quater-final they beat Round Towers Clondalkin well 1-11 to 0-05 - A RTC team which had topped group 2.

Castleknock:

Castleknock topped group 3 on 3-0 with a convincing win over Skerries in R1, a narrow win over Raves in R2 and getting a WO in Round 3 from Annes. Not ideal preperation for the knockout stages

Despite that they won a high scoring game v Cuala on 3-16 to 3-12 a Cuala team that had finihed second in Group 4.

Verdict:

Local derby - should be close - Maybe the hard fought quarter-final to give Castleknock the edge?

Best of luck to everyone involved! 💪

The Final

Ballinteer St.Johns 1-17 - Castleknock 1-07

Ballinteer won the final in pretty convincing style, neither side got the glut of goals which had been their trademark up till then but some scoring from BSJ to clinch the Championship - Congratulations to everyone involved

Comiserations to Castleknock, they'll still take a lot from their run tot he final in a very competitive champsionship.

More good news from BSJ over the weekend as their u15s won the U15 division 2 league as well
