Preview

LUCAN v BODEN:

Should be a good game - two teams similarly matched in that they're striving to get to the top two but have fallen short the last few years - Lucan, for me, could be building something, but are still short of scoring options compared to Crokes and NaFianna.

Lucan finished the group in 2nd place on 4-1 and a PD of +34. In the quarter finals, they had a good win over Brigids - LUCAN SARSFIELDS 2-22 - ST BRIGID’S 1-16, Paul Crummy was scoring well and young Keher is turning into the kind of quick scoring forward that Lucan have been crying out for. Colm Walsh chipping in with scores from out the field as always as well and their defence was solid as usual.

Boden finished 3rd in Group 1 on 3 wins and 2 losses and a PD of +42. They had a hard-fought win over Vincents in the 1/4 final, coming through after extra time - BALLYBODEN ST ENDA’S 1-31- ST VINCENT’S 2-27 - McMorrow still the main scoring threat, with Murphy, Madden and Gleeson chipping in with scores as well.

TT - Hard one to Call, i think Lucan's defense will make life tough for the Boden forwards who are very reliant on McMorrow to make things happen, although Gleeson might be sharper now that he's a game under his belt after being out with injury. More than likely won't be a pile in it.

CROKES v NA FIANNA:

The winners of the last 4 county titles meet in what promises to be a hell of a clash.

Crokes finished the group with a record of 4 - 1 - they had a routine enough win over Barrog in the 1/4 final on a scoreline of KILMACUD CROKES 3-27 - NAOMH BARRÓG 0-18 - with Considine busy, Roche and Brean Kenny scoring 1-3 and 1-2 respectively. Two sweeping second half goals after half time basically killed the game off.

NaFianna on the other finished the group on 5-0 and a PD of +60 - and they have been rotating players right through the group stages. the had a huge battle with Cuala in the 1/4 finals - squeaking through on a scoreline of: NA FIANNA 2-37 - CUALA 2-34 after extra time in what was a brilliant game of hurling.

TT - Impossible one to call, NaFianna will be worried about the injuries to some key players in Donal Burke, Tom Brennan and Ciaran Stacy. but they have been rotating players all through the champsionship so if anyone can cope with those injuries, it's NAF. Sean Currie was immense in the 1/4 final, he was everywhere, and young Meagher chipped in with his usual 5 from midfield.

Crokes on the other hand, have been cruising to this stage, the blip v Cuala aside, but they had already qualified, so that could be put down to a casual start to that game. Their 1/4 final was comfortable enough, might have been better off with a more strenuous test.

No idea who will win, make Crokes with the NAF injuries - Stacy was pivotal to the NAF win last year in the final.
