Na Fianna won their third straight SHC1 title, but they were pushed all the way by a serious Lucan team who put in a brilliant effort. Na Fianna only got the critical score 3 minutes into injury time to clinch it. Only minutes previously, they looked to be in real trouble.
Lucan put in a huge performance and, when the hurt eases, it's hard to think they won't take a lot from this game. Some of their young players really stood up and look like genuine senior hurlers now. Great to see young lads develop and adapt to this grade so quickly, against a big and seasoned team like Na Fianna.
Overall, it was a fitting finish to a really competitive and enjoyable SHC1 championship.
Massive congratulations to everyone at Na Fianna and commiserations to Lucan Sarsfields.

Pre Match formalities:

Just a thrilling game of hurling, played in a great spirit.
As i said before the game that's a very strong Na Fianna 15 and bench, not just in terms of hurling but experience and physical conditioning as well.
Lucan looked really good from 1-9 and have some good established forwards but their younger players like Kennedy, Keher and Mulqueen really stood up and very nearly landed the big one.
