Leinster Club Senior Football Championship 2025

As the freshly crowned Dublin Champions, Ballyboden were drawn with a Quarter-Final match against the Wexford Champions.

Before that game, Round 1 takes place on the 1st and 2nd of November, where the Carlow Champions, Old Leighlin, meet the Laois Champions TBD, The Meath Champions Summerhill meet Young Emmets of Longford and Weathmeah's Baltinglass meet Athy, the surprise winners in Kildare.

Should be some juicy games there. Boden will be looking to go well into Leinster, but every round will be a challenge where nothing can be taken for granted, especially now with the new rules and two pointers, which seem to be catching a lot of favourites out.

The full draw below:

Quarter-Finals

So we now know Boden will meet Castletown Liam Mellows in Wexford Park on Sunday, November 16th ay 1.30pm

Boden will be looking for their potent attack to cause the opposition problems. Collie Basquel is going well in the playmaker role from 11, with Ryan O'Dwyer and Sweeney standing out in attack. Sweeney, with his quick feet, tries to make space and get a shot away off either foot. O'Dywer is also quick and loves a 2-pointer, which could be all-important here with the new rules.

Who are Castletown Liam Mellows?

They're back-to-back Senior winners in Wexford, which is no mean feat, so they will present a tough challenge away.

Ross McGarry Goal:

Thought Boden played really well for most of the first half, attacked with real pace and intent, Tullamore fought back in the third quarter before Ballyboden took over again to finish out convincing winners over a team that Cuala struggled to overcome last year in Parnell Park.

Daire Sweeney's Points:

Final

Ballyboden will face Athy in the Leinster Final in Croke Park this Saturday at 4.30pm.

Athy v Ballyboden St Endas

06.12.2025 - Croke Park- 4.30pm

Athy were suprise winners in Kildare, to some extent anyway, breaking Naas's drive for 5 in a row.

Since then they have been on an impressive run through Leinster scoring 18+ scores per game:

  • 2nd Nov – Athy (KE) (3-16) Baltinglass (WW) (0-10)
  • 15th Nov – Athy (KE) (1-16) Summerhill (MH) (0-9)
  • 18th Nov – Athy (KE) (0-18) Portarlington (LS) (0-11)

Read the RTE match report of their win over Portarlington.

Ballyboden by comparison have had the folloiwng results:

  • 16th Nov – Ballyboden St Endas (DB) (2-16)- Castletown Liam Mellows WX) (0-13)
  • 28th Nov – Ballyboden St Endas (DB) (2-19) Tullamore (0-10)

So i think it's fair to say the best two teams by a stretch are meeting in the final. It should be a great game with plenty of scores on the Croke Park pitch, or will the sides cancel each other out to some extent? I've a feeling Croke Park will suit Boden, with so many quick players but not having seen Athy, it might well suit them as well!

Boden are boosted by the return of their Captain and Full Back Shane Clayton who has missed a few weeks with injury picked up int he Dublin Semi-Final i think it was. Serious no nonsense player and leader in their FB line.

Result:

Commanding performance by Boden in Croke Park this afternoon.

Ross McGarry with 5 points from play and involvement in a lot of what Boden did well in the attackign third of the pitch - named MOTM.
