ROUND 1

GROUP 1 :

Current rankings:

  • BBSE Bs - AHL 1 - 12th
  • Raheny - AHL 2 - 5th
  • Clontarf - AHL 2 - 6th
  • Balinteer SJ - AHL 2 - 7th
  • Crokes Bs - AHL 2 - 9th
  • Erin's Isle - AHL 2 - 11th

ROUND 1 Previews:

BSJ v Boden Bs:

Mid-table in AHL 2 v Bottom of AHL1 - hard to gauge who will win this one based on that alone. Important game for both teams if they want to make a push for getting out of the group and/or to avoid relegation trouble.

Erins Isle v Clontarf:

Should be no love lost between these two after the point that wasn't given mess last year. 6th place in AHL 2 v 11th place, but Isles have 2 wins in their last 5, which is the same as Clontarf, so recent form might be closer than expected. Isles should be further boosted by the return of Conor Donohoe.

Potentially two dub 20s 2025 forwards on show in Ollie Gaffney for Isles and Newton for Clontarf (assuming he's over his injury).

Crokes Bs v Raheny:

Raheny 5th in AHL 2 v Crokes bs who are 8th - both have lost their last two games so hard one to call. We get so little news about the leagues that we don't even know if Liam Dunne is back for Raheny. No mention of him on any of the DCB round-ups in 2025 so far. Crokes might get stronger with a reshuffle with so many Dublin players returning to their first team.

GROUP 2:

Current rankings:

  • Faughs - AHL 1 - 9th
  • Castleknock - AHL 2 - 1st
  • Thomas Davis - AHL 2 - 3rd
  • Naomh Mearnog - AHL 2 - 8th
  • Fingallians - AHL 2 - 10th
  • Na Fianna B - AHL 3 - 10th

ROUND 1 MATCHES:

Faughs v Naomh Mearnog

Faughs sit in 9th in AHL 1 - albeit a couple of the teams below them have games in hand, v Mearnog, who are 8th in AHL2 with only 2 wins in 9 games this year. Faughs have the edge?

Fingallians v Na Fianna B

Frist year that Fingallians have struggled for awhile it seems, sitting 10th in AHL2 but will welcome Darragh Power back. NAF are in a similar position in AHL3 but have got 2 wins in theur last 5 games so might be improving a touch. Hard one to call.

Thomas Davis v Castleknock

Tie of the round here with 1st in AHL v 3rd - Will be a close one and could decide who finishes in top spot. Castleknock with Hogan and Boyle have two very good forwards.

I don't know the TD team really, except i think i saw Waddkick was playing hurling
